Sound Recordist in Stockholm
I'm Eric Palmcrantz — a Stockholm-based sound recordist and engineer with twenty years on location. Factual TV, documentary, commercials, brand films and ENG for international broadcasters. Small footprint, edit-ready tracks, same-day delivery.
Native Swedish, fluent English. If you're a foreign crew shooting in Sweden, I'm the bridge to Swedish-speaking contributors, locations, fixers and production services — so the sound department also unlocks the day.
Services
Location sound for TV & documentary
Factual TV, documentary series and interview-led formats. Typical setup: one to four wireless channels, boom, timecode-locked to camera. I work as a one-person sound department, which keeps small crews mobile without giving up broadcast-grade tracks.
Commercials & brand films
Agency shoots, brand films and corporate work where the dialogue needs to cut like VO. Tight wireless discipline, careful mic placement, playback on set when needed. Edit-ready polyWAV plus mixed track delivered the same day.
Documentary & long-form
Observational documentary, expedition and interview-led long-form. Comfortable working solo for weeks at a time, in Arctic cold, jungle heat or moving vehicles. Power, backup and file management planned for the trip, not the day.
ENG, news & current affairs
Same-day turnarounds for international broadcasters — PTCs, correspondent packages, heads-of-state interviews and foreign-bureau work. Fast in, clean tracks, gone. Fluent English on comms, native Swedish with contributors.
Gear
Broadcast-grade kit, redundant on every critical link, sized so one operator can carry it through an airport and onto set without a runner.
- —Sound Devices 633 field mixer / recorder — six inputs, 10-track polyWAV, timecode in and out.
- —Sennheiser G4 wireless system, multiple channels, frequency-coordinated on the day for the local RF environment.
- —DPA 4060 lavaliers for broadcast, plus a full range of mounts and rigs for wardrobe you didn't plan for.
- —Sennheiser MKH 50 on a Rycote-shockmounted boom pole — indoor dialogue standard, paired with a shotgun for exteriors.
- —Ambient NanoLockit timecode generators, jam-synced to camera at call and re-jammed across the day.
- —Zoom H6 as backup recorder, redundant wireless receivers, spare batteries and power for a full day off-grid.
Working with international crews
Native Swedish, fluent English. On a Swedish shoot day for a foreign crew that means translating for contributors on the fly, talking with location owners and neighbours on the day, and supporting your fixer with releases and permissions in the language they were written in.
Local knowledge — reliable fixers, drivers, DPs and gaffers I've worked with for years and can recommend without hedging. Tax and invoicing set up to work cleanly for foreign production companies: EUR, SEK or USD, VAT-registered, F-skatt.
Travel — fully insured, Schengen-easy, own gear travels with me. Comfortable on Arctic, wilderness and long-haul productions; recent trips include Svalbard, Alaska, Japan, Malaysia and Brazil.

Stockholm sound recordist — FAQ
What's your day rate as a sound recordist in Stockholm?
Day rate is quoted per job — it depends on crew size, deliverables, whether kit is included, and travel. Send the shoot dates, location and format and you'll get a number the same day. Invoicing in EUR, SEK or USD; VAT-registered (F-skatt), fully insured.
Do you travel outside Stockholm and Sweden?
Yes. Based in Stockholm, working regularly across Scandinavia, Europe and further afield — recent trips include Svalbard, Alaska, Japan, Malaysia and Brazil. EU/EEA travel is straightforward and visa support letters are available for longer-haul jobs.
What gear do you bring on a standard shoot day?
Standard package is a Sound Devices 633, Sennheiser G4 wireless with DPA 4060 lavaliers, a Sennheiser MKH 50 on a boom, Ambient NanoLockit timecode, IFB / comms and a Zoom H6 backup recorder. Redundant on every critical link. Full list in the Gear section above.
How much notice do you need for a booking?
Same-day for ENG inside Sweden when I'm free. For documentary and commercial work the earlier the better, but last-minute is often workable. WhatsApp on +46 70 202 44 75 is fastest inside 48 hours.
